Take Care of You

Bath and Stretching

Read the youth edition of Take Care of You

After a long day’s work, apple cider vinegar is incredible in a warm bath. You’ll want to do two cups of apple cider vinegar, two cups of Epsom salt, and a hot bath. You can put this in the bathtub, or you can put this in the foot tub. For a little extra love, you can add some flowers and throw in the petals of your choice.

Make sure you stretch. Do Pilates. Do yoga! Get into your downward-dog positions. Sign up with your local Pilates club and studio. Stretch before you go to work, stretch before you go for a walk, stretch before you go to the mall—stretch, stretch, stretch!

Full-body stretches! Neck rolls, looking up, piercing your lips, sticking your tongue out to the sky. Fish kisses.

Keep at home a Pilates mat, a Pilates rolling bar, Pilates socks, and rubber bands with a lightweight set. You just need two tens, or 5 lb, and I do up to one each of a 25 lb and a 50 lb—that’s too much for certain women. But I do some reps of some low-impact repetitions every day when I wake up, along with some abdomen core-muscle work. And then I do my regular workouts three times a week. I’ll include my workouts and my diet in the book. Because we eat to live—food is fuel, not for your feelings.
