A designated spot. No matter where you go, no matter where you move, you’ll find your stuff. You lose your keys, reading glasses, wallet, or passport. The hippocampus is the thing in your brain that keeps track of where things are. It’s the thing that allows squirrels to find their nuts. But it’s really good for things that don’t move around much. That’s why you must designate a spot for everything and stick to it. It makes it much easier for the hippocampus to know where everything is.
When you think you’re having a negative thought, realize why you had it, and if you can, write it down so that you can release it. It’s important to notice why you’re having the negative thought—but then move on from it immediately to a positive thought. Once you start to have more positive thoughts, you will start to associate the things you’re doing with the positive thoughts, and that will form habits. These will now be positive habits, because you’re having positive thoughts. This is a big deal, because you’re now changing your behavior patterns to positive behavior patterns. The future is bright.
